FABIAN, LUCEY SET CAREER HIGHS IN ETOWN'S 89-75 WIN OVER WIDENER; CHILES STAYS HOT WITH 20-POINT EFFORT

CHESTER, Pa. --- Abbie Fabian posted career highs with 23 points and 13 rebounds and Allison Lucey added a personal-best 15 points to lead Elizabethtown past Widener, 89-75, in MAC Commonwealth League action on Wednesday.  With the win, the Blue Jays improved to 6-1 on the season and 3-0 in the league.

Carmen Chiles also keyed the Etown effort, scoring 20 points and pulling down eight rebounds to hand Widener its first loss of the season.  Chiles, the current MAC Commonwealth League Player of the Week, is averaging 19.7 points and 6.8 rebounds in her past five games.

Kim Rooney scored 18 points to lead the Pioneers (5-1, 2-1) while teammate Joyce Johnson added 16 points before fouling out in the game's final minute.

Lucey also added a career-high seven steals in the win and dished out five assists.  Jesse Goldstein tied a personal-best with 11 points for Etown, which held Widener to 22-for-74 (29.7 percent) shooting from the field on the night.  The Blue Jays shot 31-for-63 (49.2 percent) from the floor.

Etown is now 13 wins shy of becoming the first women's basketball program in NCAA history to record 800 all-time victories.  The Blue Jays return to action on Friday, December 11 at home against Lycoming College.  Game time is 7 p.m.
