ETOWN DEFEATS GALLAUDET, 85-73, TO WIN BLUE JAY CLASSIC TOURNAMENT

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Elizabethtown (7-2) won the 2000 Blue Jay Classic Tournament with an 85-73 win over Gallaudet (5-6) Sunday. Etown's Carmen Chiles (Elizabethtown, PA/Elizabethtown) was awarded the tournament's Most Valuable Player Award after totaling 49 points for the weekend.

Leading the Blue Jays in scoring and rebounding against Gallaudet was Abbie Fabian (Denver, PA/Cocalico) with 22 points and 11 rebounds. Chiles scored 21 points in the game.

Ronda Jo Miller (Faribault, MN/Minnesota Academy) led Gallaudet in scoring with 36 points and rebounds with 12.

The All-Tournament team was announced following the game, and it consists of Delaware Valley's Alisa DiBonaventura (Philadelphia, PA/West Catholic), Jeanne Waznak (Scranton, PA/Bishop O'Hara) from Delaware Valley, Gallaudet's Miller, Ronda Johnson (Faribault, MN/Minnesota Academy) from Gallaudet, and Elizabethtown's Fabian. Chiles was named the tournament MVP.
