ETOWN SCRAPES PAST LEBANON VALLEY, 68-65, FABIAN AND BIGLER HIT CAREER GAME SCORING HIGHS

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- In an intensely played game, Elizabethtown edged out Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth rival Lebanon Valley, 68-65. Etown improves to 13-2 on the season and 7-1 in the conference, while Lebanon Valley falls to 10-5 overall and 4-4 in the MAC Commonwealth. Elizabethtown's Abbie Fabian (Denver, PA/Cocalico) and Lebanon Valley's Chrissy Bigler (Columbia, PA/Columbia) each had career single game point scoring highs, with 29 and 14 points, respectively.

Despite carrying a 30-29 lead into halftime, Lebanon Valley could not hold onto the lead that it built to four points early in the second half. Elizabethtown went ahead to stay with 4:40 remaining in the game.

En route to her personal-best scoring performance, Fabian canned 13 out of 14 foul shot attempts and hauled in a team leading nine rebounds and three steals. Whitney Bull (Berwick, PA/Berwick) scored 11 points for Etown, as did Carmen Chiles (Lancaster, PA/Lancaster Mennonite), who also had three steals. Andrea Thompson (West Lawn, PA/Holy Name) led the team with five assists and three steals.

Miriam Anthony (Denver, PA/Cocalico) led Lebanon Valley with 16 points, went eight for nine from the field and had five steals. In addition to her career high 14 points, Bigler pulled down a team leading 11 rebounds. Steph Tighe (Mechanicsburg, PA/Cumberland Valley) scored 15 points.

Elizabethtown returns to action at home Saturday against Albright. Game time is 4:00 p.m.
