ELIZABETHTOWN COLLEGE WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

ETOWN DOWNS ALBRIGHT, 79-44

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Elizabethtown continued to tear through its Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth opposition Saturday, this time defeating Albright 79-44. The win extends Etown's overall record to 14-2 and its conference record to 8-1. It was also Elizabethtown's tenth consecutive win. With the loss, Albright falls to 6-12 overall and 1-8 in the conference.

Albright only had the lead in the game's opening minute, when Dawn Iancale (Boothwyn, PA/Archbishop Prendergast) hit a foul shot to take a 1-0 lead. Etown then went on a scoring run of 15 unanswered points and never looked back. The Blue Jays extended their lead to 19 points by halftime. Etown ended the game with an eight point unanswered scoring run in the game's final four and a half minutes.

Carmen Chiles (Lancaster, PA/Lancaster Mennonite) led Elizabethtown with 20 points and pulled down seven rebounds. Whitney Bull (Berwick, PA/Berwick) led the team with nine rebounds. Abbie Fabian (Denver, PA/Cocalico) scored 16 points. Jesse Goldstein (Robbinsville, NJ/Lawrence) and Stephanie Scinto (Westwood, NJ/Immaculate Heart Academy) each added ten points, and Scinto led the team with seven assists.

Iancale and Rachel Connoly (Jenkintown, PA/Jenkintown) were Albright's top scorers with 12 points each. Amanda Hanincik (Hazleton, PA/Bishop Hafey) added ten points for the Lions.

Etown returns to action on the road against Muhlenberg Monday, January 31. Game time is 7:00 p.m.
