FABIAN SINKS 1,000th CAREER POINT AS ETOWN FALLS TO SCRANTON, 73-62

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Junior Abbie Fabian (Denver, PA/Cocalico) became the 20th player in Elizabethtown history to score 1,000 points in a career when she made a shot off of a steal with 4:25 remaining in to play in Saturday's game. However, it was a bittersweet occasion as Etown fell to Scranton, 73-62. It was the Blue Jays' second consecutive loss.

Elizabethtown went down by as many as 27 points with just over 11 minutes remaining to play, but battled back to outscore nationally-ranked Scranton (19-1) 24-10 in the final ten minutes of the game.

Leading Elizabethtown (15-4) in points scored was Carmen Chiles (Lancaster, PA/Lancaster Mennonite) with 19. Fabian scored 16 points to bring her career total to 1,003 and had seven rebounds and a team-leading four assists and four steals. Whitney Bull (Berwick, PA/Berwick) led the Blue Jays with eight rebounds and scored ten points.

Gillian McGovern led Scranton with 19 points, and Shannon Milder led the Royals with nine rebounds. Four Royals hit double digits in scoring.

Elizabethtown returns to action on the road against conference foe Widener Tuesday, February 8. Game time is 7:00 p.m.
