ETOWN EDGES OUT LEBANON VALLEY, 72-67

ANNVILLE, Pa. --- Despite struggling in the second half, Elizabethtown pulled away from Lebanon Valley in the game's final minute on free throws from Whitney Bull (Berwick, PA/Berwick) to win its MAC Commonwealth opener 72-67.

Elizabethtown (3-1, 1-0) jumped out to a commanding 40-25 lead by halftime, as Abbie Fabian (Denver, PA/Cocalico) and Carmen Chiles (Lancaster, PA/Lancaster Mennonite) combined for 19 first-half points.

However, Lebanon Valley (2-2, 0-1) crept back into the game over the course of the second half, and tied the score at 67 with 54 seconds left in the game. At 33 seconds remaining, Lebanon Valley's Chris Bigler fouled Bull, sending her to the line for two foul shots. Bull made both to give Elizabethtown a 69-67 lead.

Bigler fouled Bull again at 19 seconds, and Bull again made a pair of foul shots to give the Blue Jays a 71-67 lead.

Bull was fouled yet again with eight seconds left to play, and this time made one of two shots to seal the Blue Jays' victory at 72-67.
