Etown Hosts First Home Game in Program History, Picks Up First Win, 13-8, Over MAC Rival King's

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- The first home game in the history of the Elizabethtown College women's lacrosse program proved to be a sweet homecoming for the Blue Jays, who defeated Middle Atlantic Conference rival King's 13-8 after losing their first four games of the season on the road. Etown improves to 1-4 overall and 1-0 in the MAC with the win, while King's falls to 0-2 overall and 0-2 in the MAC.

Elizabethtown led throughout the entire game and took a 6-3 lead into halftime. King's gave the Blue Jays a scare mid-way through the second half when the Monarchs pulled to within one, 7-6. From that point on, Etown outscored King's 6-2.

Samantha Benton (Newtown Square, PA/Penncrest) and Liz Fretz (Parkerford, PA/Owen J. Roberts) led Elizabethtown in scoring with five goals each. Center Molly Walker (Columbia, MD/Glenela Country School) proved to be the Blue Jays' top playmaker in the game, garnering four assists.

Jen Manns (Wilmington, DE/Brandywine) scored two goals and had one assist for Etown. Stephanie Boyle (Folsom, PA/Ridley) added one goal to the Blue Jay offense, and Ally Edel (Bel Air, MD/John Carroll) chipped in two assists.

Lisa Sangirardi (Bethpage, NY/Bethpage) led King's with four goals.
