ELIZABETHTOWN COLLEGE WOMEN'S LACROSSE Etown Wins Second in a Row With 12-6 Defeat of Gwynedd-Mercy ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Elizabethtown won its second consecutive game and improved to 2-4 overall with a 12-6 non-conference win over Gwynedd-Mercy (3-3) at home Monday night. It was the first night game ever played in any sport at Elizabethtown's Sofsport® Field Hockey/Lacrosse Field, which had lights installed in the fall of 2001. Gwynedd-Mercy scored the game's opening goal at 27:22 remaining in the first half, but from then on Elizabethtown took contol, gaining a 4-2 lead by 22:01. At halftime, the score stood a 6-3 in Etown's favor. Liz Fretz (Parkerford, PA/Owen J. Roberts) led Elizabethtown with four goals scored, and she posted two assists. Molly Walker (Columbia, MD/Glenela Country School) led the Blue Jays with five assists and scored two goals. Walker now has nine assists in her last two games. Other key Etown offensive contributors included Jen Manns (Wilmington, DE/Brandywine) with three goals and two assists, Samantha Benton (Newtown Square, PA/Penncrest) with two goals and one assist, and Ally Edel (Bel Air, MD/John Carroll) with one goal and one assist. Kim Fegley (Wescosville, PA/Emmaus) made nine saves in the goal for Elizabethtown. Gwynedd-Mercy's leading scorer was Jessica Geiger (Southampton, PA/Abington) with three goals. Elizabethtown returns to action on the road Wednesday, March 25 against Middle Atlantic Conference rival Scranton. Game time is 4:00 p.m. At Elizabethtown, Pa.
