ELIZABETHTOWN COLLEGE WOMEN'S LACROSSE Late Blue Jay Rally Falls Short as Lycoming Defeats Etown, 9-7 ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Lycoming took advantage of a 4-0 run in the middle of the second half to survive a late Elizabethtown surge as the visiting Warriors defeated host Etown, 9-7, in a Middle Atlantic Conference game Wednesday. Etown drops to 3-7 overall and 2-3 in the MAC, while Lycoming improves to 7-7 overall and 4-4 in the conference. Lycoming took a thin 4-3 lead into halftime, and within several minutes of the start of the second half, Lycoming's lead was an equally tenuous 5-4 margin. The Warriors then went on a 4-0 run spanning much of the second half, until Etown launched a 3-0 run of its own in the final four minutes of the game. Liz Fretz (Parkerford, PA/Owen J. Roberts) led Elizabethtown with four goals scored, and Molly Walker (Columbia, MD/Glenela Country School) led the Blue Jays with two assists. Lycoming's leading scorers were Lauren Evangelist and Erica Likens, who each tallied three goals. Lycoming goaltender Colleen Clarke made nine saves, including several key stops during the middle of the second period. At Elizabethtown, Pa.
