Etown Pounds Lycoming, 20-9, in MAC Road Game; Jackie Brenton Scores Five Goals, Totals Eight Points

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. --- Elizabethtown got its second win in its last three games and improved to 3-4 in the Middle Atlantic Conference and 3-7 overall by inflicting a 20-9 pounding upon Lycoming (2-5, 0-3) on the road Wednesday. Etown jumped out to a 13-2 lead by halftime and never looked back, at one point leading 19-4 with 13 minutes to go in the second half.

Jackie Brenton (Laurel, MD/St. Vincent Pallotti) was Etown's leading scorer with five goals in just six shots, and she had a team high in assists as well with three to total eight points. Liz Fretz (Parkerford, PA/Owen J. Roberts) scored three goals on four shots. Ally Edel (Bel Air, MD/John Carroll School) scored two goals and had two assists for four points, and she led the Blue Jays in ground balls with seven and caused turnovers with three.

Amanda Simpson (Aberdeen, MD/Aberdeen), Jen Manns (Wilmington, DE/Brandywine), and Odessa Armstrong (Pasadena, MD/Northeast) all scored two goals and had one assist for Etown, and Danielle Grooms (Frederick, MD/Gov. Thomas Johnson) scored two goals as well. Angie Eder (Eldersburg, MD/McDonogh School) and Jenna Brown (Media, PA/Penncrest) each scored a single goal for the Blue Jays.

Lycoming's top scorer was Lauren Evangelist with five goals, and she assisted another goal for the host Warriors.

Elizabethtown will return to action at home Friday, April 9 in a 12:00 p.m. game against undefeated Montclair State University. The game is a make-up of a previously snowed-out contest from early in the season.
