Etown Defeats Alvernia, 18-14

READING, Pa. --- Elizabethtown improved to 5-9 overall with an 18-14 non-conference road win over Alvernia Thursday. Alvernia dropped to 6-9 with the loss. Etown held a 10-5 lead in the game by halftime.

Liz Fretz (Parkerford, PA/Owen J. Roberts) was Etown's top goal scorer with seven goals scored, and she had one assist for eight points. Odessa Armstrong (Pasadena, MD/Northeast) added five goals for Etown. Jen Manns (Wilmington, DE/Brandywine) had a team high of three assists and scored two goals for five points. Ally Edel (Bel Air, MD/John Carroll School) also tied for the team lead in assists with three, totaled a game high of five draw controls, and she had four ground balls to tie for the team lead with Ashley Owen (Gaithersburg, MD/Magruder).

Etown goaltender Kelly O'Connor (Newtown, CT/Westover School) made 15 saves for the Blue Jays.

Etown will return to action at home in its final Middle Atlantic Conference game of the season Saturday, April 24. The Blue Jays will host Moravian College then at 1:00 p.m.
