SELINSGROVE, Pa. --- Elizabethtown dropped to 1-4 overall and 1-1 in the Middle Atlantic Conference with a narrow 7-6 road loss to Susquehanna University Thursday night. Susquehanna improved to 3-2 overall and 2-0 in the MAC with the victory.

Etown attacker Liz Fretz (Parkerford, PA/Owen J. Roberts) scored the game's opening goal at 23:03, and Susquehanna struck back with a game-tying goal at 20:51. Jen Manns (Wilmington, DE/Brandywine) scored off a Fretz assist at 16:30 to give the Blue Jays a 2-1 lead, but Susquehanna finished the first half with four unanswered goals to carry a 5-2 lead into halftime.

Susquehanna went up 6-2 with another goal at 27:17, its fifth goal in a row and its third consecutive goal from a free position shot. Manns struck again for Etown, this time on a free position shot, at 23:47 to cut the Susquehanna lead to 6-3. The next 13 minutes were scoreless, until Susquehanna scored its final goal of the game at 10:22. From there, the Blue Jays mounted a furious comeback as Ally Edel (Bel Air, MD/John Carroll School) scored off a Fretz assist at 9:18, and as Fretz scored again just 13 seconds later. Just 40 seconds after that, Amanda Simpson (Aberdeen, MD/Aberdeen) scored off a Manns assist at 8:25 to pull the Blue Jays to within one goal of Susquehanna. However, the last eight minutes of the game went by without any further scoring.

Fretz finished the game with two goals, two assists, and three draw controls for Etown, while Manns had two goals, one assist, and two caused turnovers.

Rachel Devilbiss and Chrissy Carfello led Susquehanna in goals scored with two each, and Kristen Reineke led Susquehanna and all players in the game in ground balls with six, draw controls with four, and caused turnovers with three.
