MAC Rival Drew Defeats Etown 11-2

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Elizabethtown dropped to 4-7 overall and 2-3 in the Middle Atlantic Conference Saturday with an 11-2 home loss to Drew University (7-3, 5-0 MAC).

Elizabethtown senior Liz Fretz (Parkerford, PA/Owen J. Roberts) scored the game's opening goal 3:52 after the opening whistle, and Etown did not score again until the final goal of the game with 45 seconds left to play. On that goal, Jen Manns (Wilmington, DE/Brandywine) caught and drilled home a pass from behind the net by Amanda Simpson (Aberdeen, MD/Aberdeen).

Between Etown's two goals, Drew tallied five goals in the first half and six more in the second half.
Sarah Scholl (Forest Hill, MD/John Carroll School) led Etown in ground balls with five and in caused turnovers with two.

Drew's leading goal scorer was Rachel Hurvitz (West Hartford, CT/Conrad) with four goals. Anne Dorrance (Baltimore, MD/St. Paul's School for Girls) led Drew in ground balls with six, and Alyssa Bobe (Greenfield, MA/Northfield Mount Herman) led the Rangers in caused turnovers with three, in addition to scoring two goals.

Etown will return to action at home Monday, April 18 against MAC rival King's College (Pa.) in a 4:00 p.m. game. It is the make-up of a previously rained-out contest.
