Widener Defeats Elizabethtown 14-9

CHESTER, Pa. --- Elizabethtown dropped to 4-9 overall and 2-5 in the Middle Atlantic Conference Wednesday with a 14-9 road loss to Widener University, which improved 7-4 overall and 6-2 in the MAC with the win.

Liz Fretz (Parkerford, PA/Owen J. Roberts) led Etown in goals scored with four, and she had one assist. Ally Edel (Bel Air, MD/John Carroll) scored three goals, had one assist and team-leading totals of two caused turnovers and seven ground balls for the Blue Jays, and Jen Manns (Wilmington, DE/Brandywine) scored two goals, had two assists, and also led the team in ground balls with seven.

Widener's top scorer was Tricia Lynch with five goals.

Etown will return to action Saturday, April 23 when it hosts an 11:30 a.m. MAC game against Wilkes University.
