Nationally Fifth-Ranked College of New Jersey Defeats Elizabethtown 19-11

EWING , N.J. --- Nationally fifth-ranked College of New Jersey handed Elizabethtown College just its second loss of the season, 19-11, at Ewing Thursday night. The loss drops Elizabethtown to 8-2 overall, while the host Lions improved to 8-1 overall with the non-conference victory.

Katie Foley (Palmyra, NJ/Holy Cross) and Katie Caprinolo (Jarrettsville, MD/North Harford) led Elizabethtown in scoring with four goals apiece. Alisha Sangrey (Columbia, PA/Hempfiled) had two assists for Etown, and Sarah Gilson (Ocean Viewn, NJ/Ocean City) and Megan Byrnes (Lutherville, MD/Townson) each scored a goal and had an assist. Stepanie Kreis (Bel Air, MD/John Carroll) also scored a goal for the Blue Jays.

Kate Neese was TCNJ’s leading scorer with five goals and one assist, and Rachel Gordon scored four times for the Lions.

Etown will return to action on the road Saturday, April 14 against Middle Atlantic Conference rival University of Scranton at 1:00 p.m.
