Elizabethtown Defeats Scranton 22-15, Remains Undefeated in MAC

SCRANTON , Pa. --- Elizabethtown College staved off a late University of Scranton rally to win 22-15 on the road Saturday and improve to 9-2 overall and 7-0 in the Middle Atlantic Conference. The Blue Jays took a 13-6 lead into halftime and pushed further ahead to an 18-7 lead in the second half. Scranton then embarked upon an 8-1 run to cut Etown’s lead to 19-15 with less than six minutes left in the game. The Blue Jays scored the game’s final three goals to hang on to the win. Scranton dropped to 3-7 overall and 3-4 in the MAC with the loss.

Katie Foley (Palmyra, NJ/Holy Cross) led Elizabethtown in scoring with seven goals, and she had three assists. Kelsea Kozak (Brookhaven, PA/ Sun Valley) added two goals and led the team in assists with six. Katie Caprinolo (Jarrettsville, MD/North Harford) totaled four goals and one assist, and Megan Byrnes (Lutherville, MD/Towson) scored three times and had one assist for Etown.

Elizabethtown will return to action at home against Messiah College in a MAC game Tuesday, April 17 at 4:00 p.m.
