Elizabethtown Downs York ( Pa.) 22-10

YORK, Pa. --- A 22-10 non-conference road win over York College (Pa.) Saturday boosted Elizabethtown College’s overall record to 11-3 in 2007. York dropped to 5-8 overall with the loss. Elizabethtown stormed out to a 13-4 lead by halftime, and the Blue Jays out-scored York 9-6 in the second half.

Katie Caprinolo (Jarrettsville, MD/North Harford) led Elizabethtown in goals with six, and Megan Byrnes (Lutherville, MD/Towson) led the Blue Jays in points with seven as she totaled five goals and two assists. Stephanie Kreis (Bel Air, MD/John Carroll) scored four times for Etown, and Kelsea Kozak (Brookhaven, PA/Sun Valley) scored one goal while leading the Blue Jays in assists with three. Katie Foley (Palmyra, NJ/Holy Cross) added one goal and led Etown in ground balls with five and in caused turnovers with two. Also scoring single goals for Etown were Anna Ford (Salisbury, MD/homeschooled), Alisha Sangrey (Columbia, PA/Hempfield), Sarah Gilson (Ocean View, NJ/Ocean City), Kayla Snyder (Harrisburg, PA/Central Dauphin East) and Danielle Schaffer (Marmora, NJ/Ocean City).

Brianna Yapps led York in goals with five, and Kaitlin Davis scored twice for the host Spartans. Jaclyn Girsh added a goal and an assist for York, and Kelly Vrana and Dani Vindigni each scored one goal for the Spartans.

Elizabethtown will return to action at home Tuesday, April 24 against Wilkes University in a 4:00 p.m. Middle Atlantic Conference game.
