ELIZABETHTOWN COLLEGE WOMEN'S LACROSSE Blue Jays Set Goals Record, Lock Up Home Playoff Game With 25-8 Win at Manhattanville PURCHASE, N.Y. --- The Elizabethtown College women's lacrosse team set a program record for goals in a game and clinched a first-round home game in the upcoming Middle Atlantic Conference playoffs with a 25-8 win at Manhattanville College on Saturday afternoon. Junior Katie Foley (Palmyra, NJ/Holy Cross) scored eight goals to reach the 60-goal plateau for the second straight senior, and junior Kelsea Kozak (Brookhaven, PA/Sun Valley) dished out four assists to set a new Blue Jay career record for assists with 62, breaking the mark of 59 set by Liz Fretz from 2002 to 2005. The Blue Jays (9-4 overall, 6-1 MAC) led 9-4 at halftime and fired home a staggering 16 goals on 27 shots in the second half to lock up the win over the Valiants (7-8 overall, 3-4 MAC). The 25 goals broke the single-game program record of 24 goals set against Hood in 2002 and matched against Arcadia on April 2. Sophomore Megan Byrnes (Lutherville, MD/Towson) added four goals for the Blue Jays, while first-year student Sarah Cullinan (West Chester, PA/East) and sophomore Alisha Sangrey (Columbia, PA/Hempfield) tallied three goals apiece. Katie Bertel and Jen Ascencio led the Valiants with a pair of goals apiece, but Manhattanville was outshot 51-21 by Elizabethtown in the contest. Junior Jenn Hawkins (Havre de Grace, MD/Havre de Grace) made eight saves for the Blue Jays, while sophomore Becca Watkins (Herndon, VA/Westfield) added three stops.
