Etown Falls to Albright, 36-20

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Elizabethtown fell in its only home match of the season to Albright, 36-20, at home Wednesday.

The Blue Jays jumped out to a 20-0 lead before being felled by their lack of numbers. After a forfeit win at 125 pounds, Etown possessed a 6-0 lead going into the first contested bout at 133 pounds, which Etown's Sam Lannigan (Lancaster, PA/Conestoga Valley), won on a 9-0 major decision.

A 12-3 major decision win by Josh Miller (Indiana, PA/Indiana) gave Elizabethtown a 14-0 lead through 141 pounds. Mike Fierro (Effort, PA/Parkland) won on a pin for Elizabethtown in 3:27 at 149 pounds, giving the Blue Jays a 20-0 lead.

Albright won its first bout at 157 pounds, when Bill Fretz (Nazareth, PA/Parkland) won on a pin in 1:18, cutting the Etown lead to 20-6. Albright then won on forfeits at 165, 174, 184, and 197 pounds, giving the Lions a 30-20 lead. A win by default at heavyweight for Albright made the final score 36-20.

Elizabethtown will return to action Saturday, November 17 in the East Stroudsburg University Open.
