EElizabethtown Junior Kyle Hart Competes at NCAA Division III Championships

NORTHFIELD, Minn. --- Elizabethtown College junior 157-pound wrestler Kyle Hart (Marlton, NJ), the Blue Jays' first Middle Atlantic Conference individual champion since 1998, became the first Blue Jay to compete at the NCAA Division III Championships since 2000 Friday. The 2005 NCAA Division III Wrestling Championships are hosted by St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN. There, Hart dropped a pair of bouts to close out his first season for Etown with a 12-11 overall record.

Hart was on the short end of a 23-11 major decision in the opening round at 157 pounds to fourth-seeded Rick Lamas of Elmhurst College Friday morning.

In the consolation bracket, Hart then faced fifth-seeded Steve Martell of Johnson & Wales, who was upset by unseeded Shaheim Bradshaw of SUNY-Brockport on a pin in 5:22 in the opening round. Martell pinned Hart in 1:30.
