Elizabethtown Competes at Scranton Invitational; Bozart Second at 157 lbs.

Rob Bozart '07 placed 2nd at 157 lbs. at the Scranton Invitational Sunday.

SCRANTON, Pa. --- Elizabethtown College placed ninth at the University of Scranton Invitational Sunday as the Blue Jays, hampered by injuries, entered wrestlers in only six of the weight classes. Highlighting Elizabethtown’s performance was a second-place showing at 157 pounds by junior Rob Bozart (Camp Hill, PA/Cedar Cliff).

After a first-round bye, Bozart won his opening match on a 4-0 decision, then advanced to the championship with a 5-3 decision win in the semifinals.

Also winning individual matches for Etown was first-year student Jereme Heisey (Manheim, PA/Manheim Central), who won a 4-0 decision in his first match of the day at 149 pounds, and sophomore Peter Achilles (Geneva, NY/Geneva), who won a 3-0 decision in his opening bout in the consolation bracket at 125 pounds.

Etown will return to action at home Wednesday, December 7 against Middle Atlantic Conference rival Delaware Valley in a 7:30 p.m. dual match.
