Nationally 12th-Ranked Lycoming Shuts Out Elizabethtown 46-0

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. --- Elizabethtown College dropped to 2-5 in dual matches with a 46-0 loss to nationally 12th-ranked Middle Atlantic Conference rival Lycoming College on the road Saturday night.

Elizabethtown came close to scoring in four bouts that were decided by margins of four points or less. At 125 pounds, Peter Achilles (Geneva, NY/Geneva) had his match tied 4-4 through one period and trailed 6-5 after two period before ultimately surrendering 9-5. At 149 pounds, Jereme Heisey (Manheim, PA/Manheim Central) battled through two scoreless periods, fell behind 3-0 in the third period before earning a reversal to cut the deficit to 3-2, but than allowed an escape for the match’s final point. At 157 pounds, Rob Bozart (Camp Hill, PA/Cedar Cliff) had a 2-2 tie in the second period before ending up on the short end of a 6-2 decision. At 197 pounds, James Campolongo (Cincinnati, OH/Oakhill) was on the short end of an 11-8 decision.

Elizabethtown will return to action in the College of New Jersey Tournament Friday, January 6 at 1:00 p.m.
