Elizabethtown Defeats Muhlenberg, Falls to NYU at Muhlenberg

ALLENTOWN, Pa. --- Elizabethtown College split a pair of dual matches at Muhlenberg Wednesday night, falling to New York University 20-15 in the first match and downing Muhlenberg 37-7 in the second match. Elizabethtown’s dual match record now stands at 2-3.

Jereme Heisey (Manheim, PA/Manheim Central) won a pair of matches in different weight classes for Etown. Against NYU, he won a 5-3 decision at 157 pounds, and he won a 10-1 major decision at 165 pounds against Muhlenberg. Brett Epps (Perth Amboy, NJ/ Rutgers Prep.) also won a pair of matches at 174 pounds, an injury default win in 5:32 against NYU and an 8-3 decision against Muhlenberg. Deron Sharp (Millville, NJ/Millville) won an 8-3 decision at 197 pounds against NYU and recorded a forfeit win at 197 against Muhlenberg. At heavyweight, Mike Daub (Duncannon, PA/Susquenita) won a 6-2 decision against NYU and a 5-3 decision against Muhlenberg.

Against Muhlenberg, Bud Croswell (Newark, DE/Sanford) won on a pin in 2:53 at 149 pounds for Etown. Peter Achilles (Geneva, NY/Geneva) won on a technical fall in 7:00 at 125 pounds against Muhlenberg, and Rob Bozart (Camp Hill, PA/Cedar Cliff) won an 11-3 major decision at 157 pounds against Muhlenberg.

Elizabethtown will return to action on the road Tuesday, January 16 at NCAA Division I member Franklin & Marshall College in a 7:30 p.m. dual match.
