Elizabethtown Falls 28-14 to King’s (Pa.)

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- With a 28-14 road loss to King’s College (Pa.) in a dual match Friday night, Elizabethtown dropped to 4-5 in 2006-07. King’s improved to 8-9 in dual matches with the victory.

Elizabethtown got an early boost from 125-pounder Peter Achilles (Geneva, NY/Geneva), who won an 8-1 decision. King’s won the next two bouts, gaining a major decision at 133 pounds and a decision at 141 pounds to take a 7-3 lead.

Elizabethtown regained an 8-7 lead at 149 pounds when Bud Croswell (Newark, DE/Sanford) needed just 2:58 to win on a technical fall, 18-3. The Blue Jays extended their advantage to 11-3 with a Jereme Heisey (Manheim, PA/Manheim Central) win at 157 pounds on a 4-3 decision.

King’s followed by sweeping the matches between 165 and 197 pounds to take a 28-11 lead and seal the victory. In the final match of the night, Elizabethtown’s Mike Daub (Duncannon, PA/Susquenita) won a 2-1 overtime decision at heavyweight.

Elizabethtown will return to action Monday, February 5 at home against Lycoming College in a 7:00 p.m. dual match. It will be the Blue Jays’ final home match of the 2006-07 season.
