Four Elizabethtown Wrestlers Placewinners at Washington & Jefferson Open

WASHINGTON, Pa. --- Elizabethtown opened its 2006-07 season at the unscored Washington & Jefferson College Open Sunday. Four Blue Jay first-year students placed fourth in their respective weight classes

At 133 pounds, Eric Rhoads (Manheim, PA/Manheim Central) placed fourth in the tournament as he ran up a 4-2 record with one major decision on the day. At 149 pounds, Bud Croswell (Newark, DE/Sanford) placed fourth. He went 3-2 for the day.

Brett Epps (Perth Amboy, NJ/Rutgers Prep.) placed fourth for Etown at 174 pounds, as he went 3-2 on the day with one win on a major decision and one on an injury default. At heavyweight, Tim Katzaman (Wyomissing, PA/Wyomissing) went 5-2 with three pins for the day en route to a fourth place finish for Elizabethtown.

Also winning matches for Etown included first-year student Terry Bartholomew (Point of Rocks, MD/Brunswick), who went 2-2 with a major decision at 133 pounds, first-year student Mike Lussier (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill East), who went 1-2 with a pin, first-years Keith Staulters (Ballston Spa, NY/Ballston Spa) and Paul Connor (Tabernacle, NJ/Shawnee), each of whom went 1-2 at 165 pounds, first-year student Josh Herbert (Middletown, OH/Madison), who went 1-2 at 184 pounds, and first-year student Deron Sharp (Millville, NJ/Millville), who went 1-2 at 197 pounds.

Elizabethtown will return to action Saturday, November 11 at the King’s College (Pa.) Tournament at 10:30 a.m.
