Elizabethtown Downed by Wilkes, 20-15

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa --- Elizabethtown College split bouts with Wilkes University, but lost the bonus point matches for a final score of 20-15 in wrestling action on Saturday afternoon.

Elizabethtown (5-9) fell behind early after dropping the first two bouts, then sophomore Drew Winegar (Chatsworth, NJ/Seneca) started the Blue Jays' win streak with a 4-3 decision over Brandon Prentice at 141lbs. Sophomore Bud Croswell (Newark, DE/Sanford School) closed the gap with a 6-2 decision over Erik Smith at 149lbs.

Junior Jereme Heisey (Manheim, PA/Manheim Central) put Etown up 9-7 while picking up his 20th win on the season with a 5-3 decision at 157 lbs. Sophomore Mike Lussier (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill East) earned a 6-4 decision at 165 lbs to give the Blue Jays a 12-7 lead.

After dropping the 174lb match, Etown's first year student Bill Meaney (Toms River, NJ/Manchester Twp.) picked up a 6-2 win over Shawn Bradley at 184 lbs.

Trailing 15-11, Wilkes won the final two bouts of the afternoon to secure the win.
