Elizabethtown Falls to Sixth-Ranked Delaware Valley

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Elizabethtown College wrestling fell to sixth ranked Delaware Valley by a score of 33-3 on Thursday evening at home.

Sophomore Jereme Heisey (Manheim, PA/Manheim Central) earn the only victory for the Blue Jays, winning his 157lb match by decision 3-2 over eighth ranked Ryan Herwig. Heisey started the 3rd period up 1-0, but Herwig escaped to tie the bout with 1:45 remaining, Heisey scored a takedown with less than 30 seconds left to go up 3-1, and a late escape by Herwig ended the match 3-2.

Sophomore Bud Croswell (Newark, DE/Sanford School) lost a tough match 7-3 to fourth ranked Jesse Harrington at 149lbs.  Croswell scored a takedown early in the first period and built up over five minutes of riding time, but a late stall call and a reversal gave Harrington the lead with less than fifteen seconds left in the match.

Elizabethtown hosts Scranton on Saturday at Middletown High School.
