ETOWN DEFEATS WAYNESBURG, 30-22, AND BALDWIN-WALLACE, 22-21, ON FINAL DAY OF NATIONAL DUALS

BEREA, O. --- Elizabethtown won both matches in which it participated on the second day of the Division III National Duals hosted by Baldwin-Wallace Sunday. The Blue Jays defeated Waynesburg, 30-22, and Baldwin-Wallace, 22-21. For the weekend, Etown won three of its four matches. One of Saturday's pair of matches resulted in an 18-18 tie with Heidelberg, and Heidelberg advanced because its wrestlers won six of the ten matches while Elizabethtown fell into the consolation bracket.

Etown won three matches on pins against Waynesburg. Jason Aurand (Lititz, PA/Warwick) pinned his 157 lb. opponent at 4:26. Dan Bechtold (Lancaster, PA/Hempfield) won on a fall at 3:47 in the 174 lb. match. Art Mattes (Bethlehem, PA/Bethlehem Catholic) picked up the Blue Jays' third pin at 197 lbs. at 2:53. Mattes remains undefeated in the 1999-2000 season.

Elizabethtown had no pins against Baldwin-Wallace.

Etown returns to action Saturday, February 5 on the road against Middle Atlantic Conference rival King's. Match time is 5:00 p.m.
