ETOWN FINISHES SECOND OUT OF EIGHT TEAMS AT MESSIAH INVITATIONAL

GRANTHAM, Pa. --- Elizabethtown began its season with a bang Saturday, finsihing second in a field of eight teams at the Messiah Invitational. The Blue Jays finished one half point away from invitational winner Messiah.

Winning their matches in the championship finals for the Blue Jays included Bill Van Winkle (Hummelstown, PA/Lower Dauphin), who pinned his opponent, Art Mattes (Bethlehem, PA/Bethlehem Catholic), who won 3-1, and Josh Boyer (Hanover, PA/Delone Catholic), who won 2-1.

The Blue Jays hit the mats next at the King's Invitational Saturday, November 13.
