GORDON'S GOAL GIVES ETOWN 1-1 DRAW WITH MESSIAH; COMMONWEALTH WINNING STREAK ENDS AT 16 GAMES

GRANTHAM, Pa. --- Denise Gordon scored in the 65th minute to give Elizabethtown a 1-1 tie with Messiah (7-2-1, 2-0-1) in MAC Commonwealth League action on Tuesday.  The deadlock broke a 16-game league winning streak for the Blue Jays (5-5-1, 2-0-1) dating back to 1995.
 
Sara Strzepek gave the Falcons a 1-0 lead, scoring in the 24th minute off assists from Michelle Anderson and Missy Cicio.  The goal was the first allowed by the Blue Jays in league action this season.
 
Goalie Katrina Krzemien made 11 saves to lead Messiah, which entered the game ranked sixth in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Bethann Rumpp stopped eight shots for Etown, currently ranked fifth in the region.
 
Etown returns to action on Saturday, October 3 at Albright College.  Game time is 1 p.m.
