READING, Pa. --- Andrea Thompson and Kristy Wade each scored
a pair of goals and Becky Nocito added a goal and two assists as
Elizabethtown defeated Albright, 5-0, in MAC Commonwealth League action
on Saturday. With the win, the Blue Jays improved to 6-5-1 overall
and 3-0-1 in the MAC Commonwealth League.
Thompson scored the lone goal of the first
half in the 16th minute, then made it 2-0 in the 54th minute with her seventh
goal of the season. With 30:02 remaining, Nocito found the net for
the first time in 1998 to give the Jays a 3-0 edge.
Wade finished off the Lions by scoring her
15th and 16th goals of the season in a 13-minute stretch of the second
half. The junior forward leads Etown with 41 points.
Bethann Rumpp and Lisa Blanker
combined for the Blue Jays' fifth shutout of the season.
Etown returns to action on Tuesday, October
6 at home against Widener University. Game time is 4 p.m.
