WADE, CALLAHAN LEAD ETOWN PAST JUNIATA, 10-0; JAYS ONE STEP CLOSER TO MAC POSTSEASON ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Kristy Wade collected a hat trick and Christy Callahan added a goal and three assists as Elizabethtown rolled over Juniata, 10-0, in MAC Commonwealth League action on Thursday. With the win, the Blue Jays improved to 8-6-1 overall and 5-0-1 in the league. Etown can clinch their fourth consecutive berth in the conference playoffs with a win or tie at Moravian on Saturday, October 24. Jen Helsel opened the scoring in the second minute with the first goal of her collegiate career. Wade then reeled off three goals in five-and-a-half minute span to give her 21 for the season, one shy of her program record of 22. With only 15:06 gone in the game, Callahan made it 5-0 off an assist from Tanis Neamand. Denise Gordon and Meredith Price also scored in the seven-goal, first-half outburst. Bethann Rumpp and Lisa Blanker combined for Etown's sixth shutout of the season. Beth Bliel made ten saves in the nets for Juniata (1-11, 0-5). The Blue Jays return to action on Saturday,
October 17 for a key regional battle at home against nationally-ranked
Richard Stockton College. Game time is noon.
