ETOWN LOCKS UP COMMONWEALTH LEAGUE TITLE WITH 3-1 WIN AT MORAVIAN; JAYS EARN HOME FIELD ADVANTAGE THROUGHOUT PLAYOFFS ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Andrea Thompson tallied a goal and an assist and Becky Nocito scored the gamewinner as Elizabethtown defeated Moravian, 3-1, in MAC Commonwealth League action on Saturday. With the win, the Blue Jays improved to 9-7-1 overall and 6-0-1 in the league. Toni Stern also scored for Etown, which won its third consecutive Commonwealth League championship and locked up home field advantage throughout the upcoming Middle Atlantic Conference playoffs. The Jays will host an MAC semifinal match against either Scranton or Lycoming on Wednesday, October 28 with time to be announced. Moravian's Molly McGonigle gave the Greyhounds a lead with a goal in the 28th minute, but Stern answered 45 seconds later to knot the game at one. Nocito found the net in the 63rd minute off assists from Thompson and Suzy Uber to put the Blue Jays ahead for good. The win allowed Etown to extend its unbeaten
streak against Commonwealth League foes to 21 games and marked the first
time in six games this season that the Jays had won when tied at halftime.
