ETOWN FALLS TO GETTYSBURG, 3-2

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Elizabethtown fell in a non-conference game at home to Gettysburg, 3-2, despite out-shooting the Bullets 19-11. With the loss, Etown falls to 3-5 overall while Gettysburg's record improves to 5-2.

Nicole Hundley (Lititz, PA/Manheim Township) of Elizabethtown scored the game's first goal on an assist from Christy Callahan (Dallas, PA/Dallas) at 32:28.

Gettysburg's Kristen Salmond (Westfield, NJ/Westfield) responded at 34:00 with the first goal of her collegiate career on an assist from Lauren Melillo (Lewisburg, PA/Lewisburg).

Etown took the lead again when Eileen Fretz (Stroudsburg, PA/Notre Dame) scored at 68:22, kicking a ball that had deflected off a Gettysburg defender into the goal.

Gettysburg's Kay McLaughlin (Floral Park, NY/St. Mary's) evened the score on a penalty kick at 77:48.

Gettysburg won the game on another penalty kick at 83:18 netted by Maureen O'Donnell (Philadelphia, PA/St. Basil Academy).

Etown returns to action on the road against Moravian to open its Commonwealth Conference season Saturday, September 23 at 1:00 p.m.
