Etown Defeats Georgian Court, 4-0, College of New Jersey Downs St. Lawrence, 2-0, in Blue Jay Classic Opener, Riegger Scores Two in Etown Debut

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Katierose Riegger (Baltimore, MD/Catholic) made her Etown debut a memorable one, scoring a pair of goals in the Blue Jays' 4-0 season opening win over Georgian Court (NJ) in the Blue Jay Classic. In the tournament's first game, the defending NCAA Division III national champion College of New Jersey knocked off St. Lawrence (NY) 2-0.

The Blue Jays' first goal of the season was scored by Dina Jingoli (Morrisville, PA/Notre Dame-NJ) 20:30 into the game off an assist by Nicole Hundley (Lititz, PA/Manheim Township). Jingoli lightly tapped a corner kick to Hundley, who was standing nearby. Hundley kicked the ball behind her back to Jingoli, who had run around her, and Jingoli knocked the ball through Georgian Court's unsuspecting defense into the net.

Riegger, a sophomore transfer, tallied her first goal at 30:47 when she hit a corner kick that arced into the goal. She scored again at 72:48 on an assist from first-year Jennifer Russell (Shephardstown, WV/Jefferson). Becky Wise (Red Lion, PA/Red Lion) scored the game's final goal with just 18 seconds left to play.

Etown goaltenders Jackie Shoustal (Reading, PA/Exeter Township) and Amy Weid (Turnersville, NJ/Pitman) each played 45 minutes, with Shoustal making one save and Weid stopping two shots to split the shutout.

In the first game of the day, Alison Baker (Succanussa, NJ/Roxbury) and Erin Pivovarnick (Hamilton, NJ/Nottingham) scored for the College of New Jersey. St. Lawrence keeper Maggie O'Neil (Binghamton, NY/Chenango Falls) made eight saves.

The Blue Jay Classic concludes Sunday with St. Lawrence facing Georgian Court at noon and Elizabethtown taking on the College of New Jersey at 2:00 p.m.
