Etown Falls to #1 Ranked College of New Jersey, 2-0, St. Lawrence Blanks Georgian Court, 5-0, in Blue Jay Classic

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- On the final day of the Elizabethtown Blue Jay Classic, the defending national champion and currently number one ranked College of New Jersey defeated Etown 2-0, and St. Lawrence (NY) defeated Georgian Court (NJ) 2-0.

TCNJ (2-0) outshot the Blue Jays (1-1) 16-4, and had seven corner kicks against three for Etown. Denise Buckley (Freehold, NJ/Freehold Boro) scored both goals for the Lions, one in the first half and one in the second.

Amy Weid (Turnersville, NJ/Pitman) made one save for Etown in the first half. Jackie Shoustal (Reading, PA/Exeter Township) took over in the goal at the start of the second half and made seven saves for the Blue Jays.

In the first game of the day, Kate Adams (Ilion, NY/Ilion) and Ashley Porter (Rutland, VT/Rutland) scored two goals apiece to help lead St. Lawrence (1-1) past Georgian Court (0-2).

Etown returns to action at home Wednesday, September 5 against Franklin and Marshall. The first ever home game for the Elizabethtown College women's soccer team to be held at night, it is scheduled to start at 7:00 p.m.
