Etown Wins 11-2 Blowout Over Wilkes

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Elizabethtown improved to 4-1 overall while getting its biggest win of the young season Wednesday, defeating Wilkes 11-2. Wilkes falls to 2-3 overall with the loss.

The game was high-scoring from the start, with Etown taking a 2-1 lead within the first eight minutes. A pair of goals by Rebecca Young (Macungie, PA/East Pennsboro) at 33:41 and 35:50 made the score 4-1 in Etown's favor by halftime.

The Blue Jays took a 6-1 lead after Brienne Spangler (Leola, PA/Warwick) scored back-to-back goals at 52:42 and 56:52. Nicole Hundley (Lititz, PA/Manheim Township) had three assists for Elizabethtown.

Scoring the first goals of their collegiate careers in the game included Kelly Drumel (Swedesboro, NJ/Kingsway Regional), Tara Budinetz (Treichlers, PA/Northampton) and Jessie Cromley (New Columbia, PA/Milton).

The Blue Jays return to action on the road against Messiah Saturday, September 15. Game time is 12:00 p.m.
