Etown Blanks Drew, 4-0

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- The nation's 15th-ranked Elizabethtown College women's soccer team improved to 9-2 overall with a 4-0 win over Drew at home Saturday.

Jennifer Russell (Shephardstown, WV/Jefferson) scored the opening goal at 26:58 on an assist from Dina Jingoli (Morrisville, PA/Notre Dame-NJ), giving Etown a 1-0 lead going into halftime.

Megan Halladay (Wallingford, PA/Strath Haven) scored on a penalty kick at 54:24, and Rachel Chieppa (Cheswick, PA/Springdale) added a goal less than three minutes later to improve the Blue Jays' lead to 3-0. Becky Wise (Red Lion, PA/Red Lion) scored Etown's final goal at 74:46.

Amy Weid (Turnersville, NJ/Pitman) made three saves in the shutout effort. Elizabethtown's defense held Drew to only three shots for the entire game, while the Blue Jays fired off 20 shots.

Etown returns to action on the road Wednesday, October 3 against Commonwealth Conference rival Lebanon Valley. Game time is 4:00 p.m.
