Cromley Scores Two as Etown Downs Moravian, 4-0

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Jessie Cromley (New Columbia, PA/Milton) netted a pair of goals as Elizabethtown improved to 11-3 overall and 3-1 in the Commonwealth Conference with a 4-0 win over Widener at home Tuesday night.

Despite outshooting Widener (5-7-1, 1-4) 11-0 in the first half, Elizabethtown entered halftime locked in a scoreless tie with the Pioneers. Courtney Phillips (Mechanicsburg, PA/Mechanicsburg) broke the stalemate at 56:00 when she headed in a ball served up on a corner kick by Dina Jingoli (Morrisville, PA/Notre Dame-NJ).

Cromley made the score 2-0 at 71:01 by converting a cross pass from Jingoli. Aileen Musser (Columbia, PA/Hempfield) scored on an assist by Rachel Chieppa (Cheswick, PA/Springdale) at 76:00, and Cromley scored the final goal at 78:18, assisted by Jingoli for her third assist of the evening.

Elizabethtown's defense held Widener to just one shot the entire game, while the Blue Jays belted out 24 shots. Jackie Shoustal (Reading, PA/Exeter) and Amy Weid (Turnersville, NJ/Pitman) combined in the goal in the Blue Jays' shutout effort.

Elizabethtown returns to action at home against Commonwealth Conference rival Moravian Saturday, October 13 at 7:00 p.m.
