Etown Comes From Behind to Defeat Juniata, 2-1, Blue Jays Finish Regular Season 14-3 Overall, 6-1 in Conference

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Elizabethtown staged a dramatic, come-from-behind 2-1 win over Juniata to close out the regular season with a 14-3 overall and 6-1 Commonwealth Conference record. It was the Blue Jays' Homecoming game, and Etown scored both of its goals in the game's final nine minutes.

The teams battled to a 0-0 draw in the first half, despite Etown's outshooting of Juniata, 5-0. Juniata's Rebecca Shoaf (Madison, NJ/Madison) scored on the Eagles' only shot of the game at 75:05 to take a 1-0 lead.

Elizabethtown tied the game at 82:01 when Megan Halladay (Wallingford, PA/Strath Haven) scored on a penalty kick. Halladay had an earlier penalty kick in the first half, but it was blocked by Juniata goaltender Kira Troutman (Valley View, PA/Line Mountain), for one of ten saves she made in the game.

Katierose Riegger (Baltimore, MD/Catholic) scored the winning goal with just 1:15 remaining in regulation time on assists from Nicole Hundley (Lititz, PA/Manheim Township) and Courtney Phillips (Mechanicsburg, PA/Mechanicsburg).

Elizabethtown outshot Juniata 14-1 over the entire game, and had 12 corner kicks against one for the Eagles.
Elizabethtown will host a first-round Commonwealth Conference playoff game Wednesday, October 24, time and opponent to be determined.
