ELIZABETHTOWN COLLEGE WOMEN'S SOCCER Etown Eliminates College of Notre Dame In First Round of NCAA Tournament with 7-0 Win, Jingoli Sets Assist Records ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Elizabethtown advanced to the Mid-Atlantic Regional of the NCAA Division III tournament with a first round 7-0 win over the College of Notre Dame (Md.) at Ira R. Herr Field Wednesday. The Blue Jays, ranked fifth in the region and now 15-4 overall, out-shot the visiting Gators 30-4. Notre Dame concludes its season at 12-9 overall with the loss. Etown senior Dina Jingoli (Morrisville,PA/Notre Dame-NJ) had assists on each of the first three goals scored, giving her 15 assists this season and 37 over the course of her career. She set a new Etown program record for assists in a season by surpassing the previous high of 13 set by Kathy Hensinger in 1989, and she broke Hensinger's old career record of 36, set between 1989 and 1992. Senior forward Brienne Spangler (Leola, PA/Warwick) scored a pair of goals at 18:01 and 60:36 and totaled two assists in the game. Nicole Hundley (Lititz, PA/Manheim Township) scored two goals, including the game-winner, and posted an assist for the Blue Jays. She struck at 5:37 and 18:58. Jessie Cromley (New Columbia, PA/Milton) gave Elizabethtown a 4-0 lead at 29:02 on a breakaway goal. Rebecca Young (Macungie, PA/Emmaus) scored at 49:37 to give the Blue Jays a 5-0 lead. Courtney Phillips (Mechanicsburg, PA/Mechanicsburg) scored with assists from Rachel Chieppa (Cheswick, PA/Springdale) and Young. Chieppa also assisted Spangler's final goal. Notre Dame goaltender Veronica Zientak (Baltimore, MD) made 17 saves for the Gators. At Elizabethtown's end, Jackie Shoustal (Reading, PA/Exeter Township) made two saves in the first half and Amy Weid (Turnersville, NJ/Pitman) made one save in the second half to combine for the shutout. Elizabethtown will advance to the Mid-Atlantic Regional tournament, hosted by Muhlenberg, Saturday and Sunday. The Blue Jays will take on Muhlenberg (18-2) in the first game at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 3. Western New England (14-7-1) will face the nation's top-ranked College of New Jersey (17-0) at 1:30 p.m. Saturday. The winners of both of Saturday's games will face each other for the regional championship and a chance to advance further Sunday. At Elizabethtown, PA Goal Scorers: Shots: ND 4, EC 30.
