Etown Falls to Muhlenberg, 3-1, in NCAA Tournament Mid-Atlantic Regional, Blue Jays Finish Season 15-5

ALLENTOWN, Pa. --- Elizabethtown concluded its 2001 season with a 15-5 overall record with a 3-1 loss to Muhlenberg in the NCAA Division III tournament Mid-Atlantic Regional Saturday. The regional is being hosted by Muhlenberg, which improved to 19-2 with the win.

After the first 40 minutes passed without any scoring, Muhlenberg's Dawn Iberer broke the stalemate with a goal at 41:06, assisted by Jennie Vroman. Just two minutes later, Rebecca Armstrong lofted a pass from Monica Jones into the far post to give Muhlenberg a 2-0 lead going into halftime.

The Mules took a 3-0 lead five minutes into the second half when Courtney Levine scored on an assist from Armstrong.

Elizabethtown scored its only goal at 85:56 when Megan Halladay (Wallingford, PA/Strath Haven) booted in a goal in the midst of a post-corner kick scramble, her fourth goal of the season.

The game's shot totals were almost even, with Elizabethtown firing off 14 shots and Muhlenberg attempting 15. Muhlenberg goalkeeper Kim Laurino made six saves.

With a 15-5 finish, the Blue Jays conclude the season with a .750 winning percentage, their best since 1997.
