Etown Falls to SUNY-Oneonta, 4-0, in Red Dragon Cup Tournament Championship, Megan Halladay Named Tourney Defensive MVP

ONEONTA, N.Y. --- Elizabethtown fell to 2-4 overall in 2002 with a 4-0 loss in the championship game of the Red Dragon Cup Tournament to tournament host SUNY-Oneonta Sunday afternoon. Etown sweeper Megan Halladay (Wallingford, PA/Strath Haven) was named the tournament's defensive Most Valuable Player following the game.

SUNY-Oneonta (5-1) out-shot the Blue Jays 15-2 and had eight corner kicks against none for Elizabethtown.

The Red Dragons took a 2-0 lead in the first four minutes of the game on a pair of unassisted goals by Brooke Davis (Grand Gorge, NY/Stamford), and Heather Simpson (Sayville, NY/Sayville) and Alissa Karcz (South Huntington, NY/Walt Whitman) added a goal each in the middle of the second half.

Etown will return to action on the road Thursday, September 19 at Rowan for a 7:00 p.m. game.
