Rebecca Young Goal Sinks Drew as Etown Wins, 1-0

MADISON, N.J. --- Rebecca Young (Macungie, PA/Emmaus) scored unassisted on a rifle shot from 35 yards out 4:04 into the second half to give Elizabethtown a 1-0 road victory over Drew Thursday night. The win improves Etown to 4-5 overall, while Drew falls to 3-4 as the reeling Rangers lost their fourth game in a row and suffered their third consecutive shutout.

Shutting out Drew was Etown keeper Amy Weid (Turnersville, NJ/Pitman). She needed to make just two saves as the Blue Jays' defense, anchored by Taylor Gauvin (Baltimore, MD/Perry Hall), Shannon Don (Haddonfield, NJ/Haddon Heights), Kierstin Rowe (Harrisburg, PA/Lower Dauphin) and Megan Halladay (Wallingford, PA/Strath Haven) held Drew to just three shots the entire game. Elizabethtown, by contrast, fired off 16 shots at Drew goalkeeper Danielle Yento, who made nine saves.

Elizabethtown returns to action in its first home game since September 1 to host Division II Shepherd (WV) Saturday, September 28. Game time is 4:00 p.m.
