Scranton Swipes 2-0 Win From Etown on Homecoming

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Scranton rained on Elizabethtown's Homecoming festivities Saturday afternoon with a 2-0 win over the Blue Jays. Etown drops to 7-7 overall, while Scranton, ranked fifth in the Mid-Atlantic Region, improves to 10-3.

After a scoreless first half, Scranton's Kelly Klingman broke the stalemate with a goal at 48:47. Sara Suchoski followed with goal at 60:06.

Elizabethtown actually out-shot Scranton 13-9, and both Elizabethtown goaltender Amy Weid (Turnersville, NJ/Pitman) and Scranton keeper Amy Gerkin made five saves. Etown also had four corner kicks against two for Scranton.

Elizabethtown is scheduled to return to action Tuesday, October 22 on the road against Commonwealth Conference rival Widener in a 3:00 p.m. game.
