Etown Defeats Widener, 3-1

CHESTER, Pa. --- Etown improved to 8-7 overall and 3-0 in the Commonwealth Conference with a 3-1 road win over Widener Tuesday. Widener drops to 10-4-1 overall and 1-4 in the conference with the loss.

Kelly Drumel (Swedesboro, NJ/Kingsway Regional) scored the game's first goal for Etown at 11:33. Less than two minutes later, an Eileen Fretz (Stroudsburg, PA/Notre Dame) goal put Etown up 2-0. The second goal of Jeanette Halstead's (Chalfont, PA/Central Bucks West) collegiate career gave Etown a 3-0 lead at 65:40.

Jill Buchanan scored Widener's only goal at 77:30 on a direct kick.

Etown will return to action at home Saturday, October 26 against Messiah in a 2:00 p.m. conference game.
