Etown Ties Dickinson, 1-1

CARLISLE, Pa. --- For the second game in a row, nationally 19th-ranked Elizabethtown played to a 1-1 tie. This time the Blue Jays (4-0-2) faced Dickinson on the road.

Elizabethtown scored the first goal of the game as Courtney Phillips (Mechanicsburg, PA/Mechanicsburg) struck at 10:44 to give Etown a 1-0 lead going into halftime. Alyssa Carlow scored for Dickinson just 3:13 into the second half to tie the score. Dickinson out-shot Elizabethtown 19-13, and the Red Devils held a 5-2 advantage in corner kicks. Etown goaltender Amy Weid (Turnersville, NJ/Pitman) made nine saves to keep Etown in the game, and Dickinson goalie Alana Scheetman had eight saves.

Etown will return to action Wednesday, September 17 as the host of Rowan in a 4:30 p.m. non-conference game.
