Elizabethtown Gets 199 th Win in Program History with 4-1 Victory over McDaniel 

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. --- Elizabethtown College registered the 199 th win in the history of its women’s soccer program Sunday in a 4-1 thumping of McDaniel College at the University of Mary Washington. Etown is now 3-1 overall, while McDaniel is 2-2 overall.

Etown carried a 2-0 lead into halftime. Brooke Dotterer (Spring City, PA/Owen J. Roberts) scored the first goal off a corner kick at 32:22, and defender Lindsay Brown (Myerstown, PA/ELCO) scored her first goal of the season and what turned out to be the game-winner at 37:20.

McDaniel narrowed the gap to 2-1 just 32 seconds into the second half as Tara Healy scored off a Sarah Wallace assist for the Green Terror. Etown first-year student Jenna Russo (Florham Park, NJ/Hanover Park) followed with a goal off a Keeley Trumo (Chester Springs, PA/Great Valley) assist at 52:14 to put the Blue Jays up 3-1. At 63:28, Dotterer struck again for Etown, this time off assists by sweeper Dana Moyer (Harleysville, PA/North Penn) and midfielder Kelly McCauley (Newark, DE/St. Mark’s).

Elizabethtown out-shot McDaniel 18-8 over the course of the game, and the Blue Jays held a 5-1 advantage in corner kicks. Etown goaltender Pam Ostroski (York Haven, PA/Red Land) made five saves in the win, and McDaniel goalie Michelle Mullen made five saves as well.

Elizabethtown, which has been playing since 1988, will go for all-time win number 200 Wednesday, September 14, when the Blue Jays host Rowan University at 5:00 p.m. at Elizabethtown’s Ira R. Herr Field.
