Blue Jays Shut Out Albright 4-0; Brooke Dotterer Tallies Hat Trick 

READING, Pa. --- Elizabethtown College improved to 8-3-1 overall and 3-0 in the Commonwealth Conference with a 4-0 road win over Albright College Tuesday night. Albright dropped to 5-5-2 overall and 2-2 in the Commonwealth with the loss.

Brooke Dotterer '09 scored three times against Albright.

Elizabethtown sophomore Brooke Dotterer (Spring City, PA/Owen J. Roberts) tallied a hat trick in the win as she scored each of Elizabethtown’s last three goals. Fellow sophomore Jenna Russo (Florham Park, NJ/Hanover Park) got the scoring started 14:43 into the game with a goal off an assist by senior Keeley Trumbo (Phoenixville, PA/Great Valley). Just 21 seconds later, Dotterer scored her first goal of the game off a Jenny Fromuth (Wyomissing, PA/Wyomissing) assist. Dotterer struck again at 26:10 off an assist by Jamie Alvanitakis (Landenberg, PA/Avon Grove) to give Elizabethtown a 3-0 lead going into halftime.

The game’s final goal came at 55:11, as Dotterer scored her team-leading 10th goal of the season off another Alvanitakis assist. Elizabethtown out-shot Albright 10-4 in the game and held a 9-3 edge in shots on goal. Etown goalie Dawn Mellen (Warren, NJ/Watchung Hills Regional) made three saves to preserve the shutout.

Elizabethtown will return to action on the road Saturday, October 14 at Widener University in a 2:00 p.m. Commonwealth Conference game.
