Elizabethtown Posts Fourth Straight Shutout Win by Defeating McDaniel 4-0

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Junior Brooke Dotterer (Spring City, PA/Owen J. Roberts) and senior Jenny Fromuth (Wyomissing, PA/Wyomissing) each scored a goal and added an assist to lead Elizabethtown College to a 4-0 victory over McDaniel College in non-conference women's soccer action at Ira R. Herr Field on Wednesday afternoon.

Brooke Dotterer

Junior Jenna Russo (Florham Park, NJ/Hanover Park) and sophomore Erin Scott (West Chester, PA/Bishop Shanahan) also scored for the Blue Jays (4-1-0 overall), who have recorded four straight shutouts for the first time since 1997 and notched four consecutive shutout wins for the first time since 1991.

Russo gave the Blue Jays a 1-0 lead with 29:45 left in the first half as she took a pass from Dotterer and found the back of the net. Senior Jamie Alvanitakis (Landenberg, PA/Avon Grove) also earned an assist on the play.

Jenny Fromuth

The Blue Jays went ahead 2-0 with 26:40 left in the first half as a missed penalty kick went to Fromuth, who passed to Scott for the goal. Fromuth pushed the Blue Jay lead to 3-0 with 10:11 left in the first half as she took a through pass from junior Jess Hudon (Georgetown, MA/Georgetown) and fired home her third goal of the season.

Just 3:15 into the second half, the Blue Jays finished off the scoring as Dotterer converted on a penalty kick to extend the Elizabethtown lead to 4-0.

The Blue Jays finished with a 17-3 edge in shots and a 7-0 advantage in corner kicks over the Green Terror (0-5-0 overall). First-year student Lindsey Butler (Salem, NJ/Woodstown) posted the shutout without needing to make a save, while Leanne Hollinger finished with six stops for McDaniel.
